During the winter season the sunlit retail Farmstand at Allandale Farm, the only working farm in Boston, rests. This space collects solar warmth, has supplemental heat and electricity, restrooms, storage space and plenty of parking. Why not take advantage of this wonderful location for yoga practice? Allandale Farm is on the Brookline/Jamaica Plain border and is easily accessible by car or public transportation.

It's best to bring your own mat, though we will have some loaner mats on hand.

From Route 9 at Route 128: take Route 9 east to Hammond Street in Brookline.Turn right on Hammond Street (after Copy Cop). When you get to the rotary, take the 3rd right turn out of the rotary onto West Roxbury Parkway. Make a left turn at the end of the divider onto Newton Street. Make a right turn at the Exxon Station onto Grove Street. The next left is Allandale Road. The farm is located .5 mile on the left.
From Route 1 at Route 128: Take Route 1 North from Route 128 and Dedham. At the end of the VFW Parkway, bear left onto Centre Street. At the first light, make a left turn onto Allandale Street (just before Faulkner Hospital). The farm is .6 of a mile on the right.
From Boston: Take Route 1 south to the end of the Jamaica Way. Follow the signs for Faulkner Hospital (H signs), Dedham and West Roxbury. Turn right at the light at Faulkner Hospital onto Allandale Street. The farm is .6 of a mile on the right.
From Brookline Village: Cross Boylston Street and follow High Street to Stevens Market; turn left and then left again in front of the nursing home. Then bear right onto Perkins Street and bear left onto Goddard Avenue to the light. Go straight through the next light and turn left after the Exxon Station onto Allandale Road. The farm is .5 mile on the left.
Via Public Transportation: Allandale Farm is accessible via public transportation on the following bus routes:
#38 bus – Wren Street – Forest Hills Station & Centre/South Streets. The bus stops at the corner of Centre Street and Allandale Street. The farm is a ½ mile down Allandale Street on the right.
#51 bus – Cleveland Circle – Forest Hills Station via Hancock Village. The bus stops at the corner of Grove Street and Allandale Road. The farm is a ½ mile down Allandale Road on the left.
About Nancy Wilson
Nancy Wilson is a part-time business consultant and former Boston-area high-tech executive who has been practicing yoga and meditation in various traditions for over 20 years and teaching since 1998. In 1997 she completed a 200-hour Hatha yoga training through Naturally Fit, a small Boston-area school with a Kripalu tradition.
She completed Level 1 Teacher Training with Baron Baptiste in 2002. She has studied mysore-style Astanga, and refreshes her practice by regularly participating in led classes, retreats, and workshops. She has studied with Baron Baptiste, Rolf Gates, Ana Forrest, Tias Little, John Friend, Brian Kest, and Shiva Rea..
She owns and directs Yoga Now, East Dedham.
