Expand-Extend: Whole Body Breathing
An all-levels workshop Saturday, February 16, 3:00-5pm
with Rolf Pechukas
Breathing is the central activity of yoga. Whether you are a neophyte or a master, it ALWAYS comes back to the breath. Learning how to breathe actively - with every cell, every muscle, every fiber of your being - and at the same time safely - healingly, lovingly, with specific care to the structure and integrity of the body - is the focus of this workshop.
We will explore some fundamental 'preparatory' techniques - specific arrangements of muscles around bones and joints that allow the breath to be as full and as free as possible - and then explore the breath, using these techniques, through a flowing series of postures, focusing on maintaining the connection to the well-being of the body, the fullness of the breath, and the depth of the emotional experience. This workshop is designed to inform, invigorate, and encourage embodiment in students of all levels.
$35. for current Yoga Now students.
You can also register for this workshop or call 617.947.9488 and pay at the time of the workshop.
